今年正好iPhone上市10周年，不斷外傳會有新款iPhone（暫稱iPhone 8）推出，iPhone 8採用前後玻璃外殼設計，指紋辨識可能融入螢幕，推出前舊款iPhone有可能價格下降，幫助提升銷售量，推測iPhone可能在本季銷售4100萬支。
外國網路媒體PhoneArena指出，華爾街證券商Cowen&Company分析師Timothy Arcuri指出，蘋果在這個季度表現不錯，iPhone銷量有機會達4150萬支，相較去年4036萬支小幅成長，iPhone 8恐怕也會帶給蘋果相當好成績。
iPhone使用者不像Android，品牌黏著度相當高，美國投資銀行摩根史坦利分析師Katy Huberty，曾提出報告指出，iPhone使用者黏著度約92％，更換手機時，下一代iPhone成為主要選擇，iPhone 8可能形成換機潮。
